Going up in the world - We're not 'mezzin' about!

With the expansion of the range and the amount of territory covered, an increase in sales was always on the horizon. This, of course, threw up a dilemma with the amount of stock the UK warehouse could hold. The increasing demand from the ever-growing network of Insignia resellers not only allowed us to grow internally but almost forced our hand. Expanding into a secondary warehouse was not logistically viable so as usual, we decided to think outside the box. Instead of expanding on a horizontal level, we are expanding vertically, literally going up in the world. The installation of a new mezzanine floor was undertaken this week at the main UK distribution centre for Insignia Showers. This created a brand new raised area which is 10m x 6m is situated above the spare parts packing desk. We spoke to Managing Director Leon Maclean who said, “The new flooring gives greater storage areas for the ever-expanding range. This, in turn, allows us here at Insignia to store greater numbers of showers which will allow us to keep up with the increased demand with the new resellers we are bringing on board this year.”
