Choosing colours is always down to personal preference, maybe look at bold colours ie yellows, greens and don’t forget orange. Doesn’t fit in with your theme or personality? Tone it down with pastels colours.
Lastly, why not take the playful approach if you have kiddies! Nothing wrong with having funny little quote plaques or even coloured rubber ducks.
